Checking out the SPCA 2 Years ago Karma: 0
For those of you considering adding a new dog to the family, and are maybe still in the research stages.....
Something to consider is going to the spca or your local shelter and having a look there first. What could feel better than giving a homeless dog a loving home? Sure you might have your mind set on that specific breed, or that you MUST get a puppy, but puppies aren't for everyone.....sure their cute and cuddly (now) but they grow up so fast and are tons of work.

The shelters have many mixed breed dogs that are just the cutest things, unique and very special. On a side note- mixed breeds are proven to have a better health track record in the long run. PLUS, they come with their vaccinations AND are spayed/neutered when you pick them up.

We got both of our dogs there and we couldn't be happier. New dogs arrive on a daily basis so check them out often, or log onto their website if one is available.
In Buffalo, its yourspca.org.

Something to think about

I agree! I got my dog from the SPCA. There are so many dogs there just waiting for a good home.

As you said, They come with their vaccinations AND are spayed/neutered when you pick them up. And are also much cheaper to take home than a Pure breed dog.

So, you can save a dog and money if you go to your local SPCA or animal shelter. Please give theses dogs a chance. You won't be disapointed.
